LED Downlights for Commercial Spaces
Choosing Between Panel Sizes
Panel downlights range from 8W compact fittings (107mm cutout) through to 20W units (225mm cutout). Smaller 8-12W panels suit corridors, toilets, and offices with lower ceilings. Larger 15-20W options work well in retail spaces, meeting rooms, and open-plan areas where you need more coverage per fitting. All sizes include matched drivers — Philips on some models, BOKE on others — so you don't need to source separate control gear.
Colour Temperature Options
Most panels come in 4000K, 5000K, or 6000K. Pick based on the work environment. 4000K suits general offices and retail where you want balanced light. 5000K and 6000K work better in warehouses, workshops, or clinical settings where clarity matters more than warmth. RGB+CCT models let you adjust colour and brightness on demand — useful for spaces that change use throughout the day.
IP Ratings and Durability
These downlights carry IP40 to IP54 ratings, so they handle dust and light moisture without issue. That makes them suitable for commercial interiors like kitchens, bathrooms, and plant rooms — not just dry offices. Aluminium housings with powder-coated finishes resist corrosion better than plastic alternatives. Most fittings include a 120-degree beam angle, which spreads light evenly without harsh shadows or bright spots.
Emergency Backup Options
Some panel models offer a 3-hour emergency function. If mains power fails, the fitting switches to battery backup automatically. That keeps exit routes lit and meets basic compliance needs in tough environments where safety lighting matters. Standard models without backup still run for 30,000+ hours before needing replacement.
