The Best LED Lighting Options for Retail Stores
As you know, one of the most important aspects of a retail store is to have your products look as good as possible. This means having the right amount of light to make everything visible and appealing, but not bright enough to cause discomfort to your customers. Here are some of the best lighting solutions for this and other purposes.
LED Strip Lights
LED Strip Lights are quite versatile. They can be installed almost anywhere, and are great for sharp angles and corners thanks to their slim design. There are two main types of LED Strip Lights, COB, and SMD. Each one has considerable differences in terms of the beam angle that they provide and the way they’re built.
LED Strip Lights come in various designs and many of our products can have their colour temperature adjusted, ranging from:
- 3000K (Warm White)
- 4000K (Natural White)
- 6000K (Daylight White)
The most common voltages for LED Strip Lights are either 12 or 24 volts. The former is better when you’re planning to run them over short distances. The latter, on the other hand, will ensure steady lighting over longer areas.
One of the best ways to use an LED Strip Light in your retail store is to place them under your display areas. This will create an indirect lighting effect that looks very elegant.
LED Tube Lights
While not as visually appealing as LED Strip Lights. LED Tube Lights are also a great choice if you want to keep your retail store well-lit in a discrete way. These lights come in various wattages, including 10W, 12W, 18W, 25W, 32W, and 35W.
LED Tube Lights can also be used to give your display areas an effect of indirect lighting. However, they’re more commonly used to light up spaces throughout your retail store and allow your customers to see your products more clearly.
All our LED Tube Lights produce 120 lumens per watt. We have many different tube lengths for various applications. If your retail store is rather large, you’ll want to go for our 8ft variants to ensure the maximum possible coverage. On the other hand, if the area you’re working with is on the smaller side, our 2ft, 3ft, and even 4ft options will do great.
LED Panel Lights
If you’re going for a touch of discretion and an overall sleek look, then an LED Panel Light is the way to go. These lights come in three different versions:
- Suspended
- Surface-mounted
- Recessed
Suspended LED Panel Lights can be hung from the ceiling using a couple of suspension wires. The advantage that this type of LED Panel Lights provides, is that their height can be adjusted to hang between 30 cm and 3 metres. Suspended LED Panel Lights are great if you want adjustability or if you want to give your store a specific look.
Surface-mounted LED Panel Lights are installed on your retail store’s wall using a set of screws and a mounting bracket. These are great for when you don’t want your lighting source to hang and are looking for a fixed solution instead.
The one disadvantage of this type of LED Panel Light is that it sticks out of your wall or ceiling, so it’s not the most discrete.
If you’re looking for a more discrete lighting solution, then Recessed LED Panel Lights should be your go-to. These are also installed on your walls or ceilings but have a special mounting method that embeds them into any surface. This allows them to blend perfectly, as the frame does not stick out.
Recessed LED Panel Lights are ideal for when you want your customers to have enough light to appreciate your inventory without noticing where the light is coming from.
LED Downlights
Lastly, there are LED Downlights, which come in many different shapes and sizes for every purpose. We have various light types in this section, including round, rectangle-shaped, fixed, and adjustable.
Your classical fixed round LED Downlight is great to place above apparel, where you want a strong light source shining down directly on your products. Our adjustable gimbal selection is recommended for applications where you’ll need to move your products around and must have a light source that can move with them.
Many of our LED Downlights come equipped with their own LED Driver. The driver can not only help regulate the lights’ voltage and make them last longer, but also ensure that you always have a steady light source.
All in all, if you want a strong light source that can move around with your products and are not awfully concerned with it blending with your retail store’s walls or ceiling, an LED Downlight is an excellent choice that will last you a long time.
Which Option Is Right for You?
Now that you know the different LED lighting types available for your retail store, it’s time for you to make a decision based on various factors. First, you must consider aesthetics, as an LED Panel Light with Recessed mounting can be a great choice for a sleek look.
If you want an indirect light source that gives you a ton of flexibility and is great for sharp turns and corners, then an LED Strip Light can be a wonderful ally. Provided you’re looking for a lighting source with wide coverage, a set of 8ft LED Tube Lights will suit your needs.
And if you want an LED lighting source that’s not too complicated, but allows you to adjust the direction in which the light is pointing so you can move your products around, then our LED Downlights should be your go-to.
